Formed in 1999 by Hendrik Willemyns and John Roan, the Belgian group Arsenal transcends all genres: a little rock, pop combined with Afro or South American vibes. A subtle blend that took off in the North of the country starting from the 2001 10 Days Off festival before rapidly crossing our borders to the extent of featuring in the soundtrack of American series Six Feet Under with their single A Volta.
Now with Lotuk, Arsenal have delivered a third opus which, according to the title track of the album, the famous duo seem to have abandoned exotic sounds for more pop sounds. A new album to be heard live with the group, who has just sold out the Ancienne Belgique, notorious for extraordinary live performances. Those who saw them at Pukkelpop and Werchter in 2007, where they were named as the best live act of these festivals by some of the press, can bear witness.
