ALELA DIANE (Folk - US)
Nourished by the traditional folk listened to by her parents and following the path carved by other female singer/guitarists, young Alela Diane's disarmingly natural songs are both touching and surprising. At the age of 19, during a stay in San Francisco, she decided to learn guitar and began writing her own songs. Less than a year later at the start of 2004, she composed "The Pirate's Gospel", a debut album that charmed the U.S. Europe had to wait three years before discovering this gem at the end of a packed-out tour. 2008 was the year of her collaboration in the project "Headless Heroes" with two New York producers, on which she sang covers of Nick Cave, Daniel Johnston, The Jesus & Mary Chain and many others. Today with her new release "To Be Still", Alela Diane proves she possesses all the qualities to join the ranks of the great songwriters of the American West. With a mystical magic, its opening grooves follow a classic country style, while retaining a strange and forceful magnetism. Discover her this summer on stage at Les Ardentes.
