FINK (Pop/Folk - UK)
Following in the footsteps of "The Cinematic Orchestra", Fink is symbolic of the Ninja Tune artists who have been able to bring about a progressive change in their music. Except that for this Brighton native, the transformation has been rather more radical since, after "Fresh Produce", his entirely electronic album of 2000, he has veered towards folk music with "Biscuits for Breakfast" in 2006. This audacious evolution has been critically acclaimed and met with a certain popular success. In 2007, he did it again with an album in the same vein entitled, "Distance and Time", still loyal to the famous label and no longer totally dedicated to electronic music. With his group (Guy Whittaker on bass and Tim Thornton on drums), Fink has been on the same line up as some of the biggest artists like Zero 7, Massive Attack, Camille and The Fratellis... and it's not over yet, as he'll be found at the Ardentes with plenty other artists of the same ilk!
