GABRIELLA CILMI (Pop - AUS)
Discovered at the age of 13 by a producer at Warner, Gabriela Cilmi rapidly climbed the ladder. In 2005 she donated two songs to the soundtrack of Australian film "Hating Alison Ashley". During the following three years she co-wrote songs with Brian Higgins and Miranda Cooper of production house Xenomania. Her debut single "Sweet About Me", released in March 2008 on Island Records, swiftly reached number one in the Aussie charts, propelling her to the forefront of the music scene. "Lessons to be Learned" came out in May 2008, confirming this young antipodean girl's accomplishments, supported by her mature vocal style. The album prospered due to the singer's instinct and underlying emotional depth. At only 17 years old she's experienced a dazzling ascent, embodying energy and seductiveness, that marries soul, funk and pop-rock with a powerful voice and rich instrumentation.
