PETER BJORN & JOHN (Pop/Rock - SWE)
After having brightened up the world of pop-rock three years ago, thanks to the whistling intro of their hit Young Folks, the Stockholm trio celebrate ten years together this year with Living Thing, their fifth album. Consisting of Peter Morén (singer, guitarist and harmonica player) Bjorn Yttling (bassist and keyboard player) and John Eriksson (drummer and percussionist), the Swedish trio propose personal pop that appears naïve but is built on rhythmic and synthetic complexity. Each album has its share of little pop gems, imbued with electronic influences and unstoppable tribal beats. On stage, Peter Björn and John create a particular atmosphere that owes as much to the arty decadence of Roxy Music as to the lively pop of The Feelies with distinctly psychedelic overtones.
