BABYSHAMBLES (Pop/Rock - UK)
After a superb solo escapade, Pete Doherty is back with his band Babyshambles. It’s official: the group formed after the separation of The Libertines, with Mike Whithall on guitar, Adam Ficek on drums and Drew McConnell on bass, have just announced in English magazine NME that their future album will be released in 2010. For this third album, which will follow 2007’s excellent “Shooter’s Nation”, the group have written some 18 songs and guitarist Mike Whithall has worked on the demos in London. A confident Pete Doherty said in a recent interview: “We have the songs, even if we still need to find a producer and spend time in the studio (…) Mike has written some amazing melodies and now all we have to do is write lyrics. So, one by one, we’ll transform them into songs”.
Only a few weeks to wait until its release and the highly-anticipated appearance at the Ardentes of the tortured genius who has left his mark on rock music in the Millennium and an entire generation of fans.
