With their “See Mystery Lights” album, released on James Murphy’s New York label DFA, the duo Yacht, made up of Jona Berchtolt and Claire L. Evans, are following a passionate journey between indie pop, poetry, hip hop, DIY, punk rock and cinema. Accompanied on stage by crazy projections, Yacht (which stands for Young Americans Challenging High Technology) tap into the energy and joie de vivre of Architecture in Helsinki with the same polished production and funky structure as LCD Soundsystem. The result is a mixture of irresistible songs, just as dancey as uplifting and not that inoffensive, if not only for the underhand way they make insinuations in your head that won’t go away.
