PUBLIC IMAGE Ltd aka PiL, N.E.R.D., BABYSHAMBLES, HEATHER NOVA, EVERLAST and JUST JACK (11/02/2010)
This year Les Ardentes celebrates its fifth edition from the 8th to the 11th of July 2010 at the Parc Astrid in Coronmeuse, with what already promises to be an exceptional line-up.
The organisers in effect decided to dig deep to thank festival-goers for making Les Ardentes such an unmissable event in such a short time.
The first two confirmed headliners promise an already historic spectacle.
PiL aka PUBLIC IMAGE Ltd (Sunday 11th July)
Sex Pistols lead singer John Lydon, alias Johnny Rotten, has decided to reform his other legendary group, Public Image Limited, aka PiL, defunct for 17 years. After several exclusive dates in England, Public Image Limited will play at the Ardentes this Summer.
It was in 1978, the same year the Sex Pistols split that PiL was born ready to leave their mark on the history of music thanks to their unique fusion of Rock, Dance, Folk, Ballet, Pop and Dub. Post-punk pioneers, the group also had several innovative and experimental hits such as "Public Image", "Rise" and "This Is Not a Love Song". PiL's influence is still present today in the fusion of hip-hop rock, dubstep and with groups like the Manic Street Preachers, Massive Attack and Primal Scream.
The Ardentes is proud to welcome this cult group at their fifth edition.
BABYSHAMBLES (Sunday 11th July)
After a beautiful solo album, Pete Doherty is back with his band Babyshambles and a forthcoming new record.
N.E.R.D.(Friday 9th July)
The group of global mega-star Pharrell Williams and his collection of hip-hop, funk and rock & pop crossover hits.
HEATHER NOVA (Sunday 11th July)
Seven albums and over fifteen years in the business make siren Heather Nova one of the most consistent names in international pop.
EVERLAST (Saturday 10th July)
Leader of hip-hop groups House of Pain and La Coka Nostra, and author of frantic anthem Jump Around, Erik Schrody records equally under the name Everlast, the most interesting fusion of rap, country and blues in the last 10 years.
JUST JACK (Saturday 10th July)
Author of "Stars in their Eyes" and past master in electro soul pop songs, will again be the soundtrack to your summer this year.
