DISCODEINE ( - FR)
The Parisian duo Discodeine sum up everything that we love. At the helm is Cédric Marszewski, better known by the name Pilooski, sound pioneer from the Dirty collective and Benjamin Morando, alias Pentile. To define their music, they talk about “the funky side of Messiaen, the funnier sides of Can and the dark side of Gotainer”. Acclaimed since the beginning in 2007 and supported from the start by the greats from Simian Mobile Disco to Joakim via Chloé, the two men are far from being nobodies. We already knew that Pilooski has the Midas touch, notably thanks to his numerous remixes, but with the release of this first eponymous album, the sidekicks have had the opportunity to make a name for themselves as the princes of acid disco. Of note is the unstoppable track “Synchronize”, irresistibly dancy with good old Jarvis Cocker on vocals. A live appearance not to be missed at the Ardentes.
