FLORENT MARCHET ( - FR)
After two albums, “Gargilesse”, the name of a Berry village that he walked around as a child and “Rio Baril”, recognised by les Inrocks as one of the hundred best albums of the 2000s, last year, Florent Marchet recorded “Courchevel”. With this album, he paints us a gallery full of totally human portraits and leads us through France via eleven tracks that confirm his taste for the romantic. The bright pop compositions are varied and emanate from his very personal choice to mix the legendary melodies of the 60s and 70s with more modern influences like Phoenix. The result: a polished pop collection with profound restraint as well as the richness of cleverly orchestrated sounds.
