Since their impressive first album “Subculture”, Ghent band The Subs have played more than 160 concerts in 14 different countries, including the biggest festivals and London’s 10 Years of Fabric. Group frontman Papillon got through three pairs of shoes and two pairs of trousers over the course of their stageshows. Last year they coined the hit of the summer “The Pope of Dope” with the Partyharders, so it’s clear that their return to record and stage is long awaited. A wait compensated on disc with “Decontrol”, on which the group show their versatility with house bomb “Don’t Stop”, hyperactive rave jam “The Hype”, the savage techno rhythms of “The Visible Man” and last hit “The Face of the Planet”. But also live with exultant sellout shows at the AB, the Vooruit and the Caserne Fonck, and of course at Les Ardentes.
